I have a 50" Pioneer Plasma in the kitchen that has been there since 2008. I cannot justify replacement due to current picture quality... -

Having 65" LG /OLED x2 love them no need to change for now however, CES is coming up soon. So we'll wait & see :)

Youāre not wrong. Theyāre out there. Sony makes a decent 43ā. LG has a 42ā OLED. When you get below 42ā the PQ seems to really fall...

My last TV was a Panasonic Plasma and replaced with a Panasonic. Both THX certified. Makes the need to upgrade redundant.

As said in my comment above... there isn't enough meaningful content to use on the 8k screen, and then it might be just upscaled stuff...

I wait until the old one is shot. But then for a replacement I usually go with the good stuff. The last TV I bought was a 4K OLED.
