Yeah, I'm referring to the 10 ms reflection, that seems to be causing a 100hz buildup in the rt60. Or maybe they're unrelated, idk. The left side seems unaffected by it and I'd love to even it out
So I'm having some reflection issues and I can't for the life of me figure out what's causing it. I'm assuming it's some sort of first reflection..
Any ideas?
Small update.
Added my hacky old car amp+sub setup. Also turned the speakers vertical and boosted the mid frequencies on the speaker EQ to deal with a mid dip. I Think I can't really ask for more in terms of a balanced response now.
Going to work on making the front wall bass traps more...
Hey, thanks for the feedback. Yeah I noticed the 4ms spike. The R 400-800hz is an anomaly, it doesn't always show up. The 4 ms spike I'll have to check though. 4ms spike seems to be first side reflection on left side. The fabric is pretty thick on the absorber, I think I'll have to get...
I did yeah. The midrange is a lot more clear now and image is properly centered, which I think is what cleared things up the most. Low mids were just a muddy mess before. Also moving the desk back eliminated a lot of reflections. Getting better and better. :D
Yeah that helped. I moved them further out towards the side walls and moved the mix pos back a bit too. So much more even across the channels now, and 130hz peak more or less eliminated.
Yeah, thanks, appreciate all the help and guidance. It's been very enlightening.
Going to figure out the front wall first I think, the center is panned a bit to the left I'm noticing. Not sure if it's the traps or the window, or maybe just a level thing. Will have to experiment. :)
Thanks, editing the wav did the trick!
I mean it's never been this good... and I was even moved to tears for a moment yesterday.
The bass response is the most impressive I think, evening it out made a massive difference, even without a sub. Can't even imagine what a sub is gonna do. :D
The delay is caused when using a convolution engine.
Just using a Windows computer, Equalizer APO as Convolution.
In the DAW (Reaper) I tried both Melda MConvolutionEZ and EasyConvolver from GenuineSoundware. All causing delay.
Actually not that big of an issue in the DAW, although...
Ah, yeah I watched that, I think it was a part of one of the articles you linked earlier. I discarded it though because acourate was pretty expensive.
I see now though that there's a tutorial for Audiolense too, so definitely going to give it a go.
