    Large room, minimal budget

That would definitely narrow it up, but you also might consider leaving an opening of about 2 feet that you can test to see if it helps with room modes. If it doesn't, you could close it off and finish it. If it does, you could cover it with GOM material.

    Large room, minimal budget

There are a few options, I think. The old-fashioned 2x4 stud walls with sheetrock. You could get creative and make them somewhat of a Helmholtz resonator-type wall. Leave an opening of a foot or two along the walls, then stuff them with insulation. However, it's hard to know how effective this...

“Powered by MIIR” Thrive Reset integrates music scientifically curated to either recharge or relax you, Partners with Thrive Global

In layman's terms, MIIR has developed a technology that uses neuroscience to identify which parts of a song are most likely to energize or calm listeners. Or... start at one end and make it narrower to the other end... 19' on one end... angled to 23' on the other end.

GIK will also help you, and I don't think you'll be anywhere near even half of $20k. I could see spending a few thousand, but the main idea will be to eliminate the echo in the room. Carpet, chairs, corner bass traps, maybe a few panels overhead since the ceiling is fairly low. If I remember...

INXS Live Baby Live at Wembley Stadium 1991 - 4K Blu-ray Review

Goodbye HDMI, Hello GPMI? China's New Multimedia Connector Could Really Shake Things Up

Good point... the cabling could be costly. HDMI fiber optic is still considerably higher than regular HDMI, but at least it has come down some.

Goodbye HDMI, Hello GPMI? China's New Multimedia Connector Could Really Shake Things Up

Things that make you go, hmmmmm! I'll be curious to see if it is adopted and how it would be implemented. I would assume we would continue to see HDMI connections even if GPMI caught on worldwide.

Focal Unleashed Its New Utopia Cinema Line at ISE, Now It Arrives in North America

I've yet to see any projection image look as crisp and bright as my TV... especially with lights on. I'm spoiled.

Focal Unleashed Its New Utopia Cinema Line at ISE, Now It Arrives in North America

If they'll ever make acoustically transparent LED TVs... lol. Of course... they would be fine for movies, but I don't think they would work for the best depth acuity with music.

New Rotel DX-5 Brings Audiophile Cred to Desktops and Small Spaces

I think it would only be good for low listening levels or driving speakers with higher sensitivity. It would work fine as a headphone amp and probably do well with the harder-to-drive headphones compared to their DX-3 dedicated headphone amp, but it is still on the pricey side. If I were...
