Crackling and dropping audio on Mac Pro M1 HDMI

I'm using the latest REW, and experience crackling and dropping audio on Mac Pro M1 HDMI connected to my receiver. Exactly same cable is working fine with same REW version on Linux, so the cable is ruled out.
So the question is, is it REW or it's my Macbook issue? Any hints? I checked REW logs, nothing helpful there.

Make sure the sample rate for the output in the Mac's Audio Midi Setup app is the same as the sample rate in REW. HDMI interfaces may vary in their cable driving ability so that could be an issue on the Mac despite the lack of issues on the Linux machine.

I was able to use a Mac Mini M2 to test same REW version with my setup, and it works fine. Looks like I have problems with HDMI port in my Macbook. Thanks.
