Hello,

Can someone point me in the right direction or help with getting REW on a windows 10 laptop to output all of the test signals into my Denon 3800? (I have looked at the online help area and FAQ and manual, but Im lost) Using Java, I can get L, R, and L+R when connected. If I choose the output "Denon", I get the drop-down for all the bed layer channels, but when I select them (like surround L or R), nothing comes out, or it comes out of the L/R/C channel. I made sure the setting on the Denon was for surround. I tried to use FlexASIO, and I have no idea what to do with it :-).

Denon 3800 5.2.2 setup

Thanks, Lance

The surround mode should be one that supports multi-channel linear PCM. Some AVRs have limited functionality for front panel HDMI inputs.

Thanks, John; I am using option 1 HDMI input on the back and chose the Dolby Atmos setting.

The HDMI signal is multi-channel linear PCM, it is not encoded. Check your AVR's manual for a surround choice that supports that.

Thanks, I found my problem. My laptop only has USB-C connections; you must use a HUB for all your connections. The HUB I was using would only pass analog signals on HDMI. When I used another HUB, it came through PCM. Thanks for your help!

Sure,

The one that did not work is a very common one from Amazon that comes with many names on it. It is a " USB C Docking Station Dual Monitor 14 in 1 Triple Display USB C Hub Multiple Adapter with 2 HDMI+DP+6 USB C/A Ports+Ethernet+100W PD+Audio, USB C Dongle for Dell/HP/Lenovo ThinkPad/Surface Laptop." Mine says ZMUIPNG on it, but an Amazon Basic one also looks the same.

The one that worked is an Apple USB-C to HDMI "
Apple USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adapter"

Since I am new, it won't let me post links.
