Hey everyone!
Will someone be gracious enough to give a step by step setup of how to use A1 Evo when using a mini DSP 2x4 HD? Or should I not even use the mini DSP at all? I have already gain matched and time aligned my subs using the mini DSP. Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

Hi @mboxerman and welcome to the forum!
TBH I know know nothing of A1 Evo but I do know that OCA goes by @serko70 on this forum. Perhaps he’ll see the tag and be able to help you out if no one else responds beforehand.
Thank for the tag. I did not realize he was a part of this forum. I commented on his YouTube video, so between the two I hope he can help. Thanks again!

Use of MiniDSP depends on a couple of factors based on relative alignment of subs between each other.

If you have an older receiver with only 2 independent sub outputs and no directional bass mode, you can use Evo to align your subs by using a tricky 3 point measurement and the "ConvertDIrectional2Standard.html" script details of which you can find in the YT video download folder. This will eliminate the need for MiniDSP.

If you have more than 2 subs and an older AVR, MiniDSP is required regardless. If you have one of the newer AVRs with 4 sub outputs and directional bass mode, you don't need MiniDSP again because you can take directional bass mode Audyssey measurements and Evo will align all subs and convert the calibration back to standard bass mode with all subs optimally aligned.

If you want to use MiniDSP to align your subs, you can do so and use the MiniDSP as a single sub during measurements. You need to be careful not to apply long delays between subs and a lot of filter processing all of which will limit (or usually even exceed) Audyssey delay limits and Evo may not be able to align your sub system with the rest of speakers optimally.

Thank you Serko for your help and for A1 Evo!
I have a Denon x4700h with only 2 sub outputs. I’m not sure if it is directional or not.

I am thinking of eq’ing my subs with the mini DSP and then running Audyssey with the Editor app.

Could I take my measurements with the Audyssey Editor app and then disable the sub correction in app and send those measurements to Evo? In theory Evo would just room correct the other speakers and not the subs, correct?
Again thank you for all of your help!

Run MSO on your subwoofer measurements with maximum of 5-6ms time delay between subs and no EQ. Then take an Audyssey measurement with MiniDSP connected to your AVR as a single sub and run A1 Evo on that calibration file.

Well I realized that I cannot use MSO, I only have a Macbook computer and nothing Windows based.
I did time align the subs using the miniDSP and took the Audyssey measurements. .I then ran EVO with the OCA Target Curve, since you hinted that it was a bass heavy curve. After Evo optimized the measurements I looked at the final results and was surprised to see that it set the Mains to Full Band and had me to change my setting to LFE+Main. The final optimized measurement shows a null at 38hz around 64db and a smaller null around 91hz and 64db. I can only attribute that to my sub placement and my room. My room has a large opening leading to a set of stairs. Thank you again @serko70. I may need to play around with my sub placements to see if I can get better measurements out of the two.

These are room modes and most of those nulls are inaudible, check them with psychoacoustic smoothing to see what you will hear it like in reality.
