After several hours of failed attempts to generate a calibration curve for either of my audio interfaces, I thought I would come here to see if I could get some guidance. My two USB audio interfaces are: Steinberg UR44 and Focusrite Scarlett Solo. I have tried every output option on the UR44 as well as every input type (mic, instrument and line). The Focusrite is much more limited in its choices but I have exhausted those as well. The bottom line is I consistently receive a message similar to the attached screenshot.

Any guidance on the set up for running this calibration would be appreciated...I REALLY want to start taking measurements!

Cheers,
Jeff.

You have to configure the interfaces so that there is no monitoring, i.e. the input must not be fed back to the output.

Hi John,

Thanks for getting back to me. I have tried to do that by checking that there's no direct monitoring on my interface. I'm sure it is user error but I'm at a loss for what else to look at. I have attached the calibration file that was generated to see if that provides any clues.

But failing any further guidance, I'll just proceed without an interface calibration file.

THanks!

Monitoring is definitely active and any measurements you make will be completely wrong. Why are you using a Mix channel as an output? Mix channels mix inputs to produce outputs, exactly what you do not want.
