(December 4, 2024) Big news in the world of immersive audio: Goerdyna Group, an audio solutions company that operates brands such as Dynaudio, Libratone, and XEO, has acquired NewAuro B.V., the company that owns the rights to Auro-3D immersive audio and other technologies like Auro-CX. To take things further, Goerdyna has launched Goer Dynamics B.V., a brand-new entity headquartered in Belgium, to accelerate the global reach of Auro-3D across consumer and professional audio, in addition to automotive, gaming, and mobile sectors.
While Auro-3D has yet to achieve widespread market dominance, it has garnered respect and appreciation for its ability to create immersive three-dimensional audio experiences. Auro-3D and its upmixing technologies are frequently considered favorites among circles that include some of the most prestigious manufacturers of elite-level processors and AVRs. Now, with Goerdyna’s backing, the format has the potential to expand into exciting new applications like extended reality gaming and high-resolution live concert streaming.
At the helm of this new venture is Rudy Van Duppen, formerly CEO of NewAuro, who will now serve as CEO of Goer Dynamics B.V., alongside Bert Van Daele as CTO. “We are proud to join Goer Dynamics in this exciting new chapter,” said Van Duppen. “Combining our expertise and legacy with Goerdyna’s global capabilities will open new avenues for growth and innovation in the audio industry.”
Goerdyna’s Chief Commercial Officer in Europe, Julien Bergère, echoed this enthusiasm: “With the integration of NewAuro’s advanced audio solutions, we are well-positioned to enhance our portfolio and redefine what’s possible in audio technology. This strategic alignment underscores our commitment to meeting the needs of our customers with cutting-edge, immersive audio experiences.”
The creation of Goer Dynamics B.V. ensures that all of NewAuro’s intellectual property, contracts, and key personnel will transition seamlessly, maintaining continuity for current partners and clients.
Auro-3D’s strength lies in its ability to add a vertical dimension to traditional surround sound, creating a more natural and enveloping audio environment. While it may not have the broad adoption of competing formats, the technology and its unique approach continue to resonate with those who value realistic immersive experiences.
