Hello everyone, I'm fiddling with rew and I am excited for it's capabilities, I'm trying to create filters using this method :

but I'm running into problems;
1. My Impulse view doesn't look the same like the one in thee video so it's hard to time align or see anything in Impulse view here's how they look top picture is video bottom is my Impulse
2. For some reason when I'm Creating VBA filter at 18:00 of the video i don't get the same results like in the video due to asymmetrical shape of my bass response between 2 peaks maybe I could create different LP HP filter that could do a better job in my case :

Change the IR display with this control then zoom in on the time

if you use the little camera icon above the REW charts then the legend and x & y axis will be captured for better viewing.

The video isn’t showing for me. From what you wrote it sounds like one of OCA’s videos. If so he goes by serko70 on this forum. :)

Thank you, yea it's serko70's video.... OCA on YT .... for someone who's new to REW following him it's like going to college again, but I learn so much, been using Sound ID so far and after purchasing new KEF concerto meta's I found that Sound ID completely destroys sound stage it's way more pronounced than on my monitors in a treated room, I was thinking about buying ARC or DIRAC but then I found OCA's videos on you tube and said to myself I gotta try this first..... thanks for the help...

I agree with you about OCA!
If you would like to try something with REW that’s perhaps easier to follow so as to get you up and running sooner and will also produce very good results, then you might try this procedure from @moedra
thanks will definitely try this one for comparison and for friends, I managed to make he's filters but off course I would like some feedback if I did everything correctly especially in rephase... the results are impressive but I still need more testing .Do you know if there is. section / thread on this forum for OCA s method?

Not that I can recall, but that doesn’t mean no. :)
Either way, you can always start one and/or if you were to tag OCA (serko70) he may see it and answer.

Hi there,
You should open your measurement in "overlays" and choose on the left top corner marker for % sign. Choose "step" function for the best possible read-out fo a proper impuls response!!!
You can't see this impuls anywhere else!!!
Succes

Dear Mr.Mulcahy,
There is on this step-measurement(s) position one strange behavior to see!!
Every repeated or next measurement will start on a different vertical position on the left hand vertical scale!!!
If you try to compare 2 or more measurements to figure out which one is most correct, will be hard to do.
Hopefully you are able to do something about this problem.
Thank you very much in advance for all of your hard work and have a great day!!!

That method there produces some fine minimum phase filters using inversion. It's the best I have been able to come up with, plus it's relatively simple to execute.

Sounds like you have turned on the Separate traces button above the graph, see the Overlays help.
Thank you very much for your prompt reply, but what you opposed is not the case!!!
If i measure the SPL level with a UMIK-2 MIC from a loudspeaker combination with a 6/6 dB filter, Woofer and Tweeter twice (2X), you wil see via Alll Mesurements, at the OVERLAYS - STEP function that the starting point of the step is not starting at the same position and thet the hight of the step is also different. (in principle you must sea only one step instead of two because the lay over eachother!!! In my opinion should the step always start at the very same position at 0% at the lefthand side of the scale!!! See the 3 attached pictures!
All choices for output levels at the overlays page are working correct/perfect, but the output from the STEP is always incorrect!!! Hopefully you are able to correct this flaw?!? Thank you very much in advance for your co-operation and have a great day. .

There's lots of pre-ringing in the impulse response. Step starts at zero at the start of the window, which includes a "left window" of 125ms, so start of window function is t=-125ms. Change left window to perhaps 1ms and it may be more clear.

Your impulse responses have some very low frequency variations and offsets, causing the integration drift while the left windowed portion is integrated. Selecting the "High pass" option on the Soundcard preferences, Input options might help with that. A much shorter left window would also help, as dcibel says, but that would only address the starting point, the drift would continue afterwards.
