(December 28, 2024) As we head into the new year, AV NIRVANA's Travis Ballstadt has dropped one last tasty treat of content on our YouTube channel. Posted today, the Othello Cinema 2024: The Complete Home Theater Tour shows off three years of design and development poured into Ballstadt's Seattle-area home theater. Over 70-plus minutes, he details build and acoustic materials, along with featured discussions on gear – including media sources, speakers, cables, subs, processing, and projection – lighting, equipment racks, smart blinds, and seating.

Great job Travis... very nice and well thought out room. I really appreciate how you took fairly inexpensive materials and made the walls look rich. It sounds like you are really enjoying your passion for movies.

Delicate Sound Of Thunder on Kaleidescape is probably my all-time favorite concert video... just watched it this past week. We have the laserdisc and wore it out back in the day. The picture was horrible S-video, but we still loved the music.

I still have it on Laserdisc. Until the remaster a few years ago for the box set the LD was the highest quality version available. I had captured it into my edit system up-rezzed to 1080i, de-interlaced it and cleaned up some of the noise, removed some noise from the audio track and boosted it. Wasn’t a bad solution but pales in comparison to the re-release. The new version was completely recreated - re-edited and mixed - from the 35mm OCN and the master audio multitrack. Fantastic new version.
