(February 12, 2025) TEAC has announced the launch of the AP-507, the latest addition to its Reference 500 Series. This compact stereo power amplifier, featuring TEAC’s custom-tuned Hypex NCOREx module, is designed for audiophiles wanting high-fidelity sound in a versatile, space-efficient form. Available in black and silver, the AP-507 perfectly complements other 500 Series components.
Despite its small footprint (11.5" W x 3.4" H x 10.75" D), the AP-507 delivers impressive power and flexibility. Designed to function as a standalone stereo amplifier or in more advanced configurations, it supports bi-amping for enhanced speaker performance or BTL (Bridge-Tied Load) mode, where it delivers 350W at 8 ohms for high-power applications. Its compact design also makes it well-suited for integration into AV surround sound systems.
At the core of the AP-507 is TEAC’s customized NCOREx amplifier module, developed in collaboration with Hypex in the Netherlands. This next-generation NCORE technology is engineered to provide a three-dimensional soundstage with superior spatial depth and realism. Enhancing this further is TEAC’s in-house designed dual-mono buffer amplifier, meticulously tuned to optimize clarity and detail, ensuring an immersive and natural listening experience. The amplifier operates silently with a fanless design and carries an automatic power-saving function for efficiency.
Encased in a robust aluminum and steel chassis, the AP-507 is built for durability while incorporating precision engineering to reduce unwanted vibrations. The semi-floating 2.8mm thick aluminum top panel, combined with TEAC’s three-point Stress-Less Isolation Foot system, minimizes resonance and preserves tonal accuracy. The result is a cleaner, more articulate sound with an expansive sense of space.
The amplifier’s power supply features a large toroidal transformer paired with 18,800 μF capacitors per channel, ensuring consistent, high-capacity power delivery. A fully balanced circuit design is implemented at all stages, reducing interference and maintaining signal integrity. Connectivity options include XLR and RCA inputs, allowing for compatibility with a variety of source components. Large screw-type speaker binding posts ensure a secure connection for speaker cables, while a trigger input and pass-through facilitate seamless integration into multi-component setups.
Designed for functionality and aesthetics, the AP-507 features dual-pointer VU meters with a four-step dimmer and two-step sensitivity adjustment. It also exudes a minimalist and refined appearance with its compact form factor and high-quality brushed aluminum finish; it's a design that's sure to complement modern and traditional audio setups alike.
The AP-507 will be available to purchase in spring 2025 from TEACUSA.com and select dealers. The MSRP is $2,199 (USA) and €1,899 (EU). For more details on specifications, availability, and purchasing options, visit TEAC’s official website or contact an authorized dealer.
