I have problems with REW V5.40 Beta 65 (and possibly other iterations, haven't tried as I'm bound to the latest beta). When I open up my 224 measurements, REW becomes very slow, and when running OCA's new Neuron script (which utilizes REW's API) I keep getting "Network response not OK" (see screenshot) every time I try to run the script as it tries to re-organize the measurements to prepare them for cross-correlation alignment. After a minute or so, I can't get REW to respond at all.

Is there anything I can do to make REW faster? I already allocate 4 Gb of memory to REW.

I did a bit of testing and found that I was able to run the script with half the number of measurements (one .ady file = 112 measurements, instead of two .ady files combined into 224 measurements). Seems like REW just stops responding when I load 224 measurements.

You might have run out of memory, though REW would show an error message for that. Alternatively the script may not like you having more measurements loaded than it expects.

I don't think so. I have 16 Gb of RAM and Windows Task Manager reports that REW is using around 23% when the issue occurs.

@serko70 any idea?

Generally REW would show an error message for it. You could try allocating more than 4G for REW, but I'm still not sure that the script will understand having more than one set of measurements loaded.

Ok. It's two .ady files that I convert to .txt files (112 files each) using the script and then upload to REW, so they should be seen as a single set of measurements.

But doesn't the script expect to see a set of measurements from one .ady file?
The new script (a.k.a. Neuron) doesn't rely on an .ady file at all, but it lets you extract measurements (as .txt files) from an .ady file if needed.

You might just be exceeding 500 total measurements limit during initialization where temporary copies need to be created from 224 measurements. I also can't see any audible benefit from duplicating ady measurements in REW before running the optimization.

Ok. Well, somehow I managed to get the v 1.3 script to run after many tries. One time only though.

The 224 measurements are independent. 16 mic positions in a 7.2.6 system.

I have added warnings with 1.5 before it will exceed REW limit and btw REW limit has recently been increased to 1000!

Update @serko70 @John Mulcahy . I just ran Neuron 2.0 with REW Beta 68 (set to maximum 1000 measurements) and it worked without any issues with all of the 224 measurements! Thank you both for your fantastic work.

I have the same problem with Neuron version 2.4 and I only have 36 measurements. I've tested with several versions of REW from 50 to 70. I tried setting the maximum number of measurements to 1000 but it didn't change anything. I also added the following options to the REW shortcut -J -Xmx8192m but without success. If I run the script with my measurements taken using the amp's original microphone and the Audysseay Multi EQ software, I have no problem. On the other hand, if I run the script with measurements taken using an Umik-1 from the 256k lossless samples supplied with Neuron, I get the error Network response was not OK.

It seems you don't have "fixSW250HzLPF.mdat" file in the script folder. That's causing the error. But please do not post A1 Evo related problems here unless you are certain it's relevant to REW itself. There are Evo threads in this forum.

Sorry I thought I was in the right place. Anyway thanks for your help it works.
