(February 21, 2025) StormAudio has made several big announcements in the last month, including a move to a new decoder platform, a new DAC, and integration with MPEG-H audio. We discussed all three of these moves, in addition to Storm's amazing demo room experience, with the company's CEO, Olivier Thumerel, on the floor of Integrated Systems Europe 2025.

Join us as Olivier discusses the process Storm used to select a new DAC and why a new decoder has been brought into the mix. He also gives insight into MPEG-H audio and why it has relevance on the platform.

Most amazing part of the video is when he has that new DAC which is state of the art. Then he openly admits that he can’t tell the difference (and that it can only be seen in measurements)!

That makes me want to be a customer if i could afford it.

I wish they had an $8000 version. Still high end to keep them small to maintain service but would open it up to the enthusiast market.

That caught me off guard too! And I also thought the marketing honesty was a breath of fresh air.

Uh... yep... I am no doubt right there with him as part of that 95%... and I'm 100% sure of it.

Excited about the new features... hurry up and release them. :praying:

One thing I’ll say about Storm and Trinnov… neither will blow smoke in your face. Even when the camera is off and the pen is down, both brands operate with extreme levels of integrity. It’s neat to capture it in a way that allows that to come across.

I really enjoyed that conversation with Olivier - he’s such a nice person. And that’s indicative of the entire Storm team. The company isn’t massive, but it’s full of passionate and super sharp folks.
