A World of Custom Luxury: Leon Speakers SEVEN Series to Debut at CEDIA 2017
(Leon Speakers) The all-new Timbre SEVEN MT bookshelf speaker.(September 2, 2017) Now entering its 20th year of existence, Michigan’s Leon Speakers is debuting four models at CEDIA 2017. The models, part of the company’s SEVEN Series of speakers, are comprised of both traditional and lifestyle designs. Leon Speakers are available for purchase through both custom installer outfits and specialty retail locations.
“Often designers talk about form and function. We started this project with passion and purpose. The SEVEN Series takes everything we’ve learned over Leon’s 20-year history, and brings to life our passion for music, craftsmanship, and design”, says Noah Kaplan, Founder and CEO of Leon Speakers.
Leon Speakers touts the SEVEN Series as having been developed in collaboration with well-known recording artists, producers, and audio engineers. Materials, the company says, include “world-class components” meant to please the ears of the audiophiles and casual music fans alike.
Headlining the series, price-wise, is the Horizon SEVEN soundbar (starting at $9,995). This particular flagship model is custom-built to match the width of any display (up to 120” wide) and can mount to articulating TVs or directly to the wall with optional brackets. The speaker features an array of six 7” woofers and three 1” tweeters, gold-plated binding posts, and an Italian Silk custom grill.
The perfect pairing to the Horizon SEVEN soundbar is Leon’s Profile SEVEN (starting at $8,995/pair). These custom-crafted speakers feature billet aluminum tweeter surrounds and exotic hardwoods, and can be designed for use as in-wall or in-room applications. The speakers are matched to the exact height of any display, when use as L/R channels, but can also be ordered as a center channel. Left/Right channel models feature four 5” woofers and two 1” tweeters (a center channel version carries two woofers and two tweeters).
The Timbre SEVEN represents a more traditional bookshelf speaker with two available model options: MT (starting at $6,995/pair) and MTM (starting at $9,995/pair). The MT model features a single 7” aluminum cone woofer and a 1” cloth-dome tweeter (The MTM model adds a double woofer configuration). Both speakers carry 1” hardwood butcher-block cabinets and solid aluminum baffles. With a specified 85 dB sensitivity, the Timbre SEVENs are rather demanding speakers (power-wise).
Rounding out the series is the Detail SEVEN ($2,995/pair). Less information is available for this model, but Leon says it’s voice matched to “perform in harmony” with other SEVEN Series speakers.
