My HT area is on one side of a large (18x38) finished basement. It is not "treated" per se but has wall-to-wall carpet and lots of fabric-upholstered furniture. REW tells me that my RT60 is .416s, which, as far as I can tell, is not bad for a room this size. Here are the rest of the measurements...

These appear to be decent values for watching TV and occasional critical Spotify-based listening. Agree? Not looking to build a sound studio here. Thoughts on the C50 and C80 values?

I was actually hoping for bad results so that I could make large improvements, but it seems like opportunities are limited without going to extremes. Bulky bass traps would never fly with the Decorator-in-Chief.

Thanks! REW is fun!

lol... "hoping for bad results"... I like that idea... maybe it helps me justify some of my spending from time to time.

I am still just a babe when it comes to room decay, but I have read in a few places—maybe some studies—that RT60 measurements are not that helpful for smaller rooms like ours, and maybe just using the Decay or Waterfall may be more helpful. I'll see if I can find what I read.
