Any experience with these mounts? And where I would find the best price? Or any other suggestion from experience. Keep in mind this projector is like 44 lbs.

Chief RPA281 $175
Peerless PRGJVCDLA $152

I used a Chief at one time... but for my last JVC that was ceiling mounted, I ended up building a ceiling shelf that worked very well. However, I do have 3/4" plywood to screw to in the ceiling, so it was easy to secure, but as long as you have your top piece crossing over studs... it's a super inexpensive shelf to build.

I've had both at one time or another (the chief is just the just RPA universal mount with a custom JVC mount plate to accommodate the JVC's wider mounting holes) and I'd choose the Chief hands down. It's the king of mounts for a reason. Pricey, but one of the most solid mounting methods I've seen.

I'd echo what Michael stated, Chief is the king of pj mounts.

I will also echo the comments above, Chief is a great mount. I have both my projectors mounted with them (I have two projectors in my theater room, one for gaming and the other for movies).

that comes with everything you'd need but the angle bracket (if you check the dropdown menut it's another $45) if you have a sloped ceiling, otherwise it comes with the standard bracket to mount to a flat ceiling

So what piece in that kit mounts to the ceiling? I see the piece that mounts to the ceiling and takes a threaded pipe, and the projector part that takes a threaded part. What is the large flat metal piece?

that is the projector mounting plate. the main portion (that has the hole to screw in a threaded pipe) attaches to that, and the extra holes in the plate are designed to fit the holes on the back of the projector.

instead of the spider arms that most projector mounts use to lock into the holes of the bottom of the projector, the JVC's have to use that plate, mostly because they're MONSTER in size and they need extra length on the spider arms, so Chief started using a plate like like

this is what it should like like

it also comes with the ceiling mount (the 4 pointed thing up top) as default too.

as for the extension pipe. it's super easy to just get a 1 inch threaded pipe from home depot threaded on both sides cut to whatever length you want. less than $8

Not sure what info you’re referencing? The projector has lens shift built in, so you can accommodate ceiling mount.

Years ago my protector hung about 2-ft down. It shifted a tad here and there, causing issues. Personally, I say get it stabilized up in the ceiling (unless your ceiling is 20ft high!)

if you don't have Lens shift than that distance DOES make a difference, but since you have a JVC with EXCELLENT lens shift I wouldn't worry about it unless the projector is a ton above the top edge of the screen
