I'm looking forward to this new one based on Isaac Asimov's Foundation books.

Hmmm... interesting indeed... could be a good one.

I don't know.

I read the books so many times, and there was never any mention of superhero action stuff going on...
This looks like a great series of societal-sci-fi books has been given the "Marvel" treatment.

Of course, I will try to watch it, but getting prepared to be disappointed at the same time!
I hope it proves me wrong.

I never read the book... so at least that won't affect me.

Read the books back in the 70s...forgotten many details but do remember the over-arcing story line. Interested to see how they adapted this to a TV series.

Somewhat of an older story with an update maybe?

Watched the 1st episode. Hated it. Then, I tried to reason myself... book was written in the 1950's, this is 2021.

So I tried episode 2..

Writing is all over the place, introducing ideas (from the book), forgetting about them 5 min later, then, a research assistant decides he knows better than the two most intelligent persons in the universe, and kills them.
On top of all, the smartest politician and understanding of social behavior, Salvor Hardin, is not smart but has superhero powers to explain how good he(she) is?
Utter crap, and I am stopping after these awful first 2 episodes.
You might like it if you are 13 years old and decide to leave your brain in the freezer.
A disgrace to the books it is "based" on.
Oh, the FX are great, and they spent a lot of money on that. Maybe they should have hired a decent band of writers as well.

I read the books so long ago that I’ve forgotten them. I did think this would be a difficult story to adapt as a series. :justdontknow: My opinion so far is good. I enjoyed the first two episodes very much. I’ll keep watching.

They got season 2???? Really? Made it to episode 3 and threw my remote at the screen.

So, does that mean that Rings of Power will also get season 2?

Why horrible shows (while based on amazing material) get 2 seasons, and amazing shows get canceled.
One word..... Firefly.

4 episodes into season 2 and seriously considering calling it.

The first season could have been the foundation, no pun intended, for an okay show. This far into the second season it seems completely disjointed, i.e. going nowhere faster than their space warping ships.

Modern day writers run amock, knows nothing about scifi...so many formulistic themes common across genres, the sameness of action and sex (trashing Demerzel) reflects poorly on the show runners.
They should have hired a scifi writer or two.
Shame...shame...
