(August 24, 2024) With CEDIA's opening day around the corner, high-end speaker manufacturer Ascendo Immersive Audio is adding to the pre-show hype with another speaker reveal. The10 Passive LED Phantom Voice, as it's called, is designed to fit in shallow and narrow spaces, making it an attractive choice for installations using large microLED walls and traditional non-perforated or near-field projection screens.

The speaker's 12-degree wedge shape is engineered for theater and screening rooms with up to three rows of seating. Owners can use the included mounting brackets to position the speaker on a ceiling or wall at any angle. Ascendo has also included keyhole wall mounts on the top and back of the cabinet, giving installers added flexibility.

The speaker's name, ‘Phantom,’ refers to its innate ability to create a phantom stereo image that appears to emanate from the center of a screen. That image can be moved post-installation using a processor's DSP capabilities.

“This new, narrow, angled design opens up a world of possibilities. Whether you need a high-performance top speaker, wide speaker, or high speaker layer, The10 Passive LED Phantom Voice adapts to your needs,” explains Todd Sutherland of Sutherland AV Marketing, distributor of ASCENDO in the United States and Canada. “It’s even ideal for traditional surround sound setups, enhancing your audio experience from every angle.”

Priced at $2,300 per speaker, Ascendo's co-managing partner Geoffrey Heinzel says The10 Passive LED Phantom Voice promises to deliver "unparalleled sound quality" when compared to rival designs.

“We are excited to introduce this new version of our incredibly popular model, 'The10,' at CEDIA Expo," says Heinzel. "We invite attendees to experience this amazingly versatile solution in Sound Room 3 as balancing screen speakers in conjunction with our DIRECTOR in-ceiling speakers.”

If you're attending CEDIA, you can experience The10 Passive LED Phantom Voice in Sound Room Three (SR3) alongside its new flagship DIRECTOR LED Wall in-ceiling speaker. Other partners featured in the room include Seymour-Screen Excellence, Christie Digital, madVR, StormAudio, and German furniture manufacturer Moovia.
