(November 16, 2024) When it comes to modern AV installations, the challenge is clear: how do you achieve powerful, high-performance audio without bulky components taking over a room? Meet AudioControl’s new Bijou Series amplifiers—compact, ultra-efficient, and built to tackle today’s AV demands. The Bijou lineup combines cutting-edge technologies like GaN amplification, HDMI eARC connectivity, and Dante networking, all wrapped in a discreet, installer-friendly design.

The Bijou Series is launching with three models:
  • Bijou 2100: A 2.1-channel amplifier positioned for stereo or basic subwoofer setups.
  • Bijou 3100: A 3.1-channel solution for users wanting a traditional LCR speaker array.
  • Bijou 5100: A 5.1-channel powerhouse with Dante-enabled multi-zone capabilities for flexible, scalable systems.
One of the first things you’ll notice is their space-saving designs. At just 1U tall and half a rack wide, these cool-running amps can fit nearly anywhere—behind TVs, tucked into cabinetry, or neatly mounted in a rack. Inside each unit is cutting-edge GaN (Gallium Nitride) Class-D amplifier technology. This advanced tech not only offers high efficiency but also delivers robust power to drive demanding speaker arrangements. Of the three models, the 5.1-channel 5100 carries the lowest power rating at 65 watts (8 ohms), all channels driven. The 3.1-channel 3100 and 2.1-channel 2100 give installers access to a bit more muscle, promising 100 watts (8 ohms) across all channels.

Each Bijou model offers a range of connectivity, such as eARC for immersive audio sourced from a TV. Owners will also find single-ended RCA inputs for use with stereo analog sources like a phono preamp-equipped turntable, along with optical and coax digital inputs. In the case of digital sources, onboard conversion is handled by a sporty 384 kHz/ 32-bit DAC (106 dB S/N, 0.0025% THD+N).

Features like IP control for compatibility with platforms like Control4, an intuitive web configuration interface, and configurable line outputs speak directly to the CI space. For installers tackling multi-zone audio distribution, the Bijou 5100’s Dante-enabled backbone makes it an obvious choice for ease of installation. This interface allows for uncompressed audio to be delivered up to 328 feet with practically zero latency.

The Bijou Series is scheduled to begin shipping in January 2025. If you’re attending the 2025 ISE Show in Barcelona this February, you can experience these amplifiers in action at Booth 5F280.
