AV NIRVANA Reveals the Lucky Winner of its JTR Captivator 118HT Giveaway Contest!​

(August 24, 2017) AV NIRVANA and JTR Speakers are happy to announce the lucky winner of our massive JTR Captivator 118HT Subwoofer Giveaway Contest! The contest netted 67 entrants with several members (Jon Liu, 1_sufferin_mind, Tonto, Asere, JBrax, GFOviedo, Phillihp23) gaining two entries for achieving 100 posts, making for a total number of 74 eligible entries! Don’t forget: any member with 100 posts is eligible for two Giveaway entries going forward (1,000 posts grants a member three automatic entires!).

Jack1949 is bringing home quite a sub! The Captivator 118HT is a sonic beast, weighing in at 129-pounds and standing almost three feet tall (30” H x 20” W x 22.5” D). It utilizes a bass reflex design paired with a custom 18-inch driver and a DSP optimized 700-Watt amplifier for hard-hitting performance capable of digging below 17Hz in a typical room. The Captivator 118HT’s heavily braced cabinet is constructed with 18mm 13-ply Baltic Birch plywood. It also features a magnetically attached grill, and an amp plate with multiple controls (Gain, LF Adjust, Crossover, Delay), a 12-volt trigger, RCA and XLR connections, and an On/Auto/Off power selector.

Thanks everyone! Sorry, but I've been in shock since I read that I won. I've never won anything before, so I couldn't believe it when I read the email last night stating that I'd won. I kept wondering "am I dreaming", and would reread the email just to be sure I read it right the first time. I couldn't sleep last night and had to check again this morning to be sure I'd won. I guess it has finally sunk in. I've been wanting to replace my SVS SB13 with an 18" ported sub and the Cap 118HT was one that I have been considering, so this is like a dream come true! I can't tell you how excited I am to have won. I'd like to thank AV NIRVANA for the opportunity to win such an impressive sub. After I receive the sub I'll start a thread to show some pictures of it in my room.

Thanks again!!! Man I'm really excited about this. It's like waiting for Christmas morning, but I'm 68 and I should be over that by now!

They seem like they are totally different movies...my short list with this sub that will blow your mind...

I'm in my mid 30s and listen to all kind of music. Dean Martin, Frank sinatra..Bobby Darwin sound great and the sub somehow doesn't overwhelm the music..i do dial down the gain for music...Enjoy!!

Hi Guys.

Thanks for all the well wishes. I imagine some (if not most of you) entered the contest as well and it's great to hear the well wishes after winning.

Sorry I've been AWOL. Tomorrow is our grandson's 7th birthday, so my wife and I were traveling today and I haven't had much opportunity to get on the internet today. I couldn't sleep last night, thinking about that sub and whether or not I read that email correctly. Then it wasn't until this morning before we left that I thought about checking the website to see if anything had been posted about the contest winner. Well DUH. I'll try to do better.

I'm a music enthusiast and I'll mostly be using the Cap as such. However, that won't tap into the low end power of the sub, so I'll have to test out some of those movies you've suggested and report back to you. I can't wait!

I all my excitement I forgot to also thank Jeff Permanian for making the Cap 118HT available. Thanks, Jeff!!!
