Hi,
thnx for a super valuable program! 👍

I’m just wondering whether I could use the Behringer ECM8000 microphone for measurement or is it to poor [generic] calibrated?
I’m on a really tight budget right now but I’d really like to getting started with Your software - that’s why I’m asking.

Best regards,

It would be fine to look at low frequencies, up to 1 kHz or so. It's also fine to look at RT60 data, since the rates of decay don't depend on the frequency response shape. There is no point using a generic cal file as the mics vary too much.

Keep in mind that using the ECM8000 will require a USB audio interface. If you don’t currently have both the mic and a suitable interface, it would probably be cheaper to get a USB mic.

Regards,
Wayne

I’ve got a RME Fireface 800
[among others 🙃] so that’s
not a problem.
