(April 24, 2025) Bowers & Wilkins is back in the wireless headphone conversation with the debut of the Px7 S3, a refined successor to the Px7 S2e. This latest release combines upgraded materials, enhanced audio performance, and a redesigned profile aimed at delivering a more comfortable, high-end listening experience. The Px7 S3 debuts today with a host of new features—including a refined drive unit, lossless wireless audio compatibility, and improved noise cancellation.
At the heart of the Px7 S3 are redesigned 40mm biocellulose drivers with an updated chassis, magnet, and suspension. Bowers & Wilkins says the changes reduce distortion, increase detail, and improve dynamic range. Each driver is now powered by a dedicated headphone amplifier, marking a first for the brand's over-ear lineup, and a move designed to add more scale and energy to the sound. The headphone also supports aptX Adaptive and aptX Lossless, giving users access to up to 24-bit/96kHz high-resolution playback from supported streaming services like Qobuz and TIDAL.
Noise cancellation has also seen a major revamp. The Px7 S3 leverages an eight-microphone array to tackle environmental noise and enhance voice clarity during calls. Microphones have been repositioned to improve performance in noisy environments, while updated voice processing with ADI Pure Voice ensures clear communication. Battery life clocks in at 30 hours with ANC engaged, and a 15-minute quick charge adds up to seven hours of playback.
Comfort and design haven’t been overlooked. The Px7 S3 features a slimmer silhouette, upgraded memory foam ear cushions, and a newly engineered arm mechanism for a closer, more ergonomic fit. Available in Anthracite Black, Indigo Blue, and Canvas White, the Px7 S3 continues Bowers & Wilkins’ design-forward approach, with details like a reconfigured control layout and a more compact carry case.
Control-wise, users get the best of both worlds—physical buttons for playback and volume, plus expanded app support through the Bowers & Wilkins Music app. The app now includes a five-band EQ with preset memory and upcoming support for spatial audio and Bluetooth LE Audio via firmware updates.
In addition to announcing the Px7 S3, Bowers & Wilkins has confirmed that a new flagship headphone, the Px8 S2, is also on the horizon and scheduled for release later this year.
As for the Px7 S3, final pricing and availability in North and Latin America remain unconfirmed, with the company noting: “Due to the uncertainty of the tariff situation, pricing and availability are not available at this time.” However, a “Notify Me” option will be added to the Bowers & Wilkins website for interested customers who want to stay in the loop.
