(October 17, 2024) Bowers & Wilkins has announced the latest addition to its Zeppelin line with the all-new Pro Edition. Born from a speaker known for its iconic design and generous output capabilities, the Zeppelin Pro Edition is outfitted with several key upgrades to enhance aesthetics and audio quality.

At first glance, this latest Zeppelin retains the distinctive airship-like shape first introduced in 2007, but two new finishes—Solar Gold and Space Grey—grace it with a new, sophisticated touch. Another key enhancement is the updated downlight feature, which now offers users control over 15 different colors, complete with brightness adjustment options, adding a customizable ambiance to match any setting.

Internally, the Pro Edition incorporates in-house Titanium Dome tweeter technology borrowed from its regarded 600 Series. These tweeters are strategically positioned at the far edges of the speaker enclosure and are isolated from cabinet vibrations, helping to deliver detailed high frequencies without distortion. To flesh out the mid-range, a pair of 90mm drivers utilize a proprietary Fixed Suspension Transducer (FST) technology for improved cone damping. This reduces cone break-up for what the company describes as a more open, natural midrange experience.

The audio experience is bolstered by a 150mm woofer centrally mounted to prevent cabinet rocking and a super clean bass experience, but the overall sound is anchored by a revised DSP tuning tailored to make the most of the new drivers.

The Zeppelin Pro Edition is designed for seamless integration into multiroom audio setups, whether paired with other Zeppelins or used alongside Bowers & Wilkins’ Formation range of high-resolution wireless speakers. It supports streaming via AirPlay 2, Bluetooth aptX Adaptive, and Spotify Connect, giving users access to a variety of music services through the Bowers & Wilkins Music app. Streaming options include platforms like Qobuz, TIDAL, Deezer, and more, making it easy to enjoy high-quality audio from virtually any source. If you've watched our most recent review of the Bowers & Wilkins Pi8 earbuds, you'll recognize the Music app, and yes, it's the same one. That means you can seamlessly switch control between the Zepplin Pro and your favorite Bowers & Wilkins wireless headphones using the same app, streamlining your listening experience.

The new Zeppelin Pro Edition began shipping on October 15, 2024, in both Space Grey and Solar Gold. It's priced at $799 USD.
