Can we measure the phase with miniDSP UMIK-1 & REW

I am new in this forum. I built my HIFI system by myself, MY Amplifier is new , base on Neurochrom LM3886. My speaker ar 25 years ols based on Triangle an audax. Before planning any changes I would like to make som measures ....

So REW will help, the question is what Michrophone to use ?

miniDSP UMIK-1 sounds good for me, USB, Calibration file, no need to have external audio card like TASCAM US-2X2HR


BUT ! I was told that with miniDSP UMIK-1 I will not be able to measure the phase of loodspeaker.

Is someone can explained ? Is that true ?

A USB mic cannot be used with a separate timing loopback connection. To deal with that REW offers an acoustic timing reference.

OK if I well understood, usb microphone cannot be used, but other like emc8000 + audio card yes.is that correct?

No. USB mics can be used with the acoustic timing reference feature. Analog mics can be used with a suitable interface. If you choose an analog mic EMM-6 might be better than ECM8000 since it has cal data.
