Cannot get any input response except levels

Hello, I am using an SSL 2+ sound card, and since I can't find my MiniDSP cal mic, I was trying to get a quick reading with an Audyssey mic. I can see the input level change when I go to the levels button (using the test generator), but when I try to measure anything (including calibrating levels), the program will not detect anything. RTA reads nothing at all, and when going through the measure wizard, an initial check level fails (says level too low). Can someone please tell me what completely idiotic thing I am doing wrong here?
