CEDIA 2018: Pioneer Introduces Its ELITE UDP-LX500 4K UHD Universal Disc Player
The UDP-LX500 is on display at CEDIA 2018. The player, itself, is built like a tank, externally featuring a double-layered chassis, a robust 3MM steel plate, and a low center of gravity for excellent rigidity and stability. Internally, the player utilizes an acoustic damper tray and an ultra-quiet drive mechanism, paired with circuitry that minimizes noise loops for unfettered signal transmission. In addition, Pioneer says the player employs a six-layer IVH (interstitial via hole) construction technique that optimizes the routing of digital signal wiring for minimization of ground impedance.
The UDP-LX500 is a true dual threat player, offering playback of 4K UHD Blu-ray discs in addition to popular audio discs such as SACD and DVD audio; audiophiles will appreciate the company’s professed high-grade audio boards, analog 2-channel outputs, and internal “Direct” function that turns off all digital audio and video circuits for ultra-pure functionality. The presence of two HDMI outputs allows owners to configure the player in one of three modes: Separate (separates video and audio using two outputs, Single (routes video and audio together), and Pure Audio (a dedicated audio-only mode).
The UDP-LX500 is shipping now.
