CES 2020: Meet DALI Loudspeaker's New Rubicon C Series of Speakers

(January 13, 2020) DALI has announced two new active speaker models that pair directly with the company’s Sound Hub wireless audio system. Sharing the same wood fiber cone drivers, hybrid tweeters, and cabinet construction found on DALI’s Rubicon Series of speakers, along with Class D amplification tech from its Callisto speakers, the new Rubicon C speakers are available in tower (Rubicon 6 C) and bookshelf (Rubicon 2 C) designs.

DALI says Rubicon C represents a new direction for the vaunted brand, bringing true wireless performance to the table without sacrificing anything in the audio realm. Further, the speakers can be enjoyed without Wi-Fi network, as Sound Hub and both Rubicon C models pair directly with each other, giving enthusiasts access to dedicated 24-bit/96 kHz Hi-Res performance. And with a variety of inputs, Sound Hub allows owners to tap both traditional and wireless sources (including aptX HD Bluetooth and AAC streaming).

Further upping the convenience factor, owners can incorporate the BluOS NPM-1 module with Sound Hub for Hi-Res streaming from a desktop computer or handheld device.

The Rubicon 6 C and Rubicon 2 C are available in White, Black, and Walnut finishes, priced at a hefty $7,999 and $5,799, respectively. Buyers have the option of purchasing the speakers, Sound Hub, and BluOS NPM-1 module as part of a system package for several thousand more ($9,397 or $7,179). Shipping now.

I always get excited when I see active speakers, and I really dig the look of the woofers on these. However, that price tag . . .
