I am trying to measure sweeps and I'm getting the "clock adjustment too large" error message. I've tried most of the fixes I've found on this forum and nothing is working.
So, first my system:
REW version 5.31.3. I just downloaded this update. I didn't have the error message before I upgraded. Is there a way to revert to an older version to see if that's the problem?
Mic: Minidsp UMIK-1, factory calibration file, connected via usb cable to laptop computer
OS: Windows 11
Stereo system: My laptop (running REW) is connected to my Dinafrips Ares II DAC via a USB-a to USB-b cable. The DAC has NO HDMI connection.> NAD preamp > 2 minidsp 2x4 hd's (active crossover) > Emotive 700 amp > LXmini + speakers and 2 subs. (this is the same system I have been using for some time. I have successfully made measurements MANY times with this stereo system.
REW settings: Before running a measurement I set the output to EXCL Denifrip . . and the input to the EXCL mini. I have set the sweep to begin a 20hz and at 250hz. The clock adjustment is set to acoustic ref.
What I have tried, none of which has fixed the problem:
1. Set the sample rate on input and output to 24x 48000.
2. Changed the output and input to every setting listed under preferences - soundcard, ie: Default, excl,, mini, etc.
3. Turned off hardware acceleration in the Windows 11 setting. I have NOT tried reinstalling REW and turning off acceleration during installation.
4. Plugging everything into different USB ports on my laptop.
5. Cleaning USB-a to USB-b cable to DAC.
6. Switch USB cable from Mic.
7. Adjusted the sweep from 20hz - 14000 to 250hz - 10000
This problem didn't happen before. I have made two changes to my system that could be responsible: 1. added the DAC. I think I successfully made measurements with the new DAC but I can't remember. 2. Updated REW to the latest version. I am pretty sure that the problem started after the update. I check for updates every time I make measurements and if there is one I install it. I installed an update just before this problem started.
