(August 28, 2024) Today, Denon has unveiled a new spin on its flagship AV receiver. The newly branded AVR-A10H, a 13.4-channel powerhouse, sports modest upgrades, including a new ESS DAC array and an OFC wound transformer. Priced at $4,699, the A10H certainly jumps modest price points, landing squarely in high-dollar territory.

The core of the AVR-A10H is a robust 13-channel monolithic amplifier array where each channel is built on individual PCBs to minimize crosstalk and interference. Capable of delivering 150 watts per channel (2ch, 8 ohms, 0.05% THD), it has enough muscle to drive large, demanding systems without outboard support. Its immersive playback capabilities include Dolby Atmos, DTS-Pro, IMAX Enhanced, and Auro-3D, all of which complement the receiver's ability to control complex speaker setups ranging from 7.4.6 to 9.4.4 configurations.

All seven of the A10H's HDMI inputs and three outputs support 8K/60Hz and 4K/120Hz video pass-through, catering to the highest resolutions and fastest frame rates available today. The receiver also supports cutting-edge gaming features, including Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), Quick Frame Transport (QFT), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), which work together to provide a smooth, responsive gaming experience with reduced input lag. You'll also find compatibility with a wide range of high dynamic range (HDR) formats, including HDR10+, Dolby Vision, and Dynamic HDR, as well as Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) for broadcast content.

Connectivity-wise, the AVR-A10H offers built-in HEOS technology for wireless streaming from your favorite device and whole home or multi-room audio when paired with other HEOS-capable gear. Owners can stream music from platforms like Apple Music and Spotify, and control playback with the HEOS app or through Apple AirPlay 2, which also offers voice control via Siri. The A10H’s front USB port supports high-resolution audio playback up to 24bit/192kHz, accommodating formats such as MP3, WMA, WAV, AAC, FLAC, and ALAC.

To tune the audio experience, the A10H ships with Audyssey MultEQ XT32 room correction technology built-in, which measures the acoustics of a listening environment and adjusts output to deliver a balanced and precise soundstage. For those seeking further refinement, the receiver is upgradable to Dirac Live with Bass Control. To do this, an external license must be purchased directly from Dirac, which will cost an additional $349 to $599 based on the type of license chosen.

Engineered and manufactured in Denon's renowned Shirakawa factory in Japan, the receiver’s construction includes a three-layer chassis designed to reduce vibration and mechanical interference. It also features premium gold-plated speaker terminals.

With its combination of powerful amplification, advanced video and audio processing, and meticulous craftsmanship, the Denon AVR-A10H is positioned to become a tempting option among high-end home theater receivers. Its comprehensive feature set and forward-looking technology make it an ideal choice for those looking to build or upgrade their home entertainment systems, offering a compelling blend of power, precision, and versatility.

The Denon AVR-A10H will be available for purchase direct from Denon.com starting October 1, 2024.
