So I’ve learned all the features in REW

I recently just bought smaart , and it’s okay , I miss REW

So , I wish REW had live IR with live FDW and live vector averages and time aligned measurements for phase readings quickly on multiple mics

But most of all I miss smoothing in rta…

I like viewing 1/24 th banding with 1/3 smoothing for toning a system

It makes it easy to draw the target and sounds good

1. Will a octa capture work with paid REW? And

2. How long till live phase is released

Thanks

Smoothing for the RTA is the box below the mode box in the RTA graph controls.

Perhaps the author of this thread can help with the octa capture question.

It will be a long time before live (dual channel FFT) features are added.

Yeah I was saying smaart has no smoothing, and I love using it in REW

So , I’ll read that thread ….. I might end up doing a mix of both. I just really like REW and it’s so much easier and has better look and feel and controls are faster

But I like like IR in smaart……

Thanks for everything you do for us John!

I dunno . . . I guess it has a lot to do with familiarity. I have been using SMAART, and by comparison, REW feels like a really dull blunt instrument . . . I am not, for instance, aware of any means to get response curves with REW using liive program material . . (among other things). I have also never had any issue regarding smoothing to get a good curve . . . There is a lot in SMAART . . . I suggest doing some more reading.

Don't get me wrong . . . not bashing REW - each has it's place.
