I think my first DVD player was a combo LaserDisc/DVD player. I upgraded it a few times as they got better. I don't used to for DVD's anymore as we have on HDMI so I bought a Sony Blu-Ray player as I started getting Blu-Rays. At first the DVDs were about as good as LaserDisc but they got better with newer tech. Then Blu-Ray made a splash upgrade way past LaserDisc. I also have a HDDVD player as I bought fire sale HDDVD's from Fry's before they went out of business. I am glad I have these formats today as there are titles that have never made it to streaming. and other collectables. Now with the advent of streaming services killing some of their titles, I am glad to have this collection. They have adopted Disney's "Available For Only A Short Period of Time" model.

My first was a sony dvd player. Later when I got a playstation, since it had blu ray, I didn't need the sony dvd player anymore and gave it away..
