Hello All!
I want to make room measurements for my home theater (and correction off course :)) with REW. I ordered UMIK-1.
But now as have some time before it's arrived, i thought, do i need external SPL meter for measurements?
And about UMIK, how do you think should i use antivibration handler like this for it?

UMIK's are calibrated and can provide SPL readings, you don't need an external meter. Best mounting the mic on the end of a boom, the less mounting hardware around it the better as reflections from the mount will affect the high frequency parts of the measurement.

I see. Thank you.
So umik is capable to measure SPL with good accuracy?

Thank you!
So no fancy mic holder, only simple stand like this, is good to go?

You'll probably need an adapter like this to fit the UMIK mic holder to that stand. Check sizes before ordering....

Thank you!

Hello Again.
I got my mic, but now i can't make any measurements with REW :(
It's simply don't work...
Last stable version shows me after few minutes of work picture like this
24968

The latest beta is just crash any time i try to make a Measure :(
The operating system is W10 with all latest updates. I install JRE and update it.
So really IDK why it's work like this.
Any idea how to make it work?

I will try it. But seems now in the last beta it's something else. I check video fix.

What do you mean by "just crash" with the latest beta? What happens? What is in the log files?

It's mean. Then you start the measurement process, just at begin then it produces a tone, the program just disappears (close) no crash report. nothing.
I don't look at the log. There REW keeps it?

On Windows the logs are in a folder called REW in your home directory. Their location is shown in the About REW dialog. Must be something pretty catastrophic to kill the whole runtime.
