Hi,

I am fairly new to the world of mixing and mastering and I am trying to calibrate my soundcard using an ECM8000 and a Focusrite 4i4 USB audio interface. I have tried to use both the Focusrite Control software to perform the loopback test as well as a wired connection from In to Out and the calibration fails stating that "The highest level in the measured input is just -87 dBFS...The highest level should ideally be above -35 dBFS". I have the mic input gain maxed as well as the monitor output levels through the Focusrite Control software but I get the same result every time. I have even tried setting the control output mixer to 0.5 as suggested and raised the control input mixer to 1.0, but to no avail. I have attached some screenshots to help show what I am seeing, any assistance is greatly appreciated!

Best Regards,

If Focusrite has an ASIO driver, select it in the Preferences window, where you currently have Java. In the same window 'Levels' you have selected 'subwoofer test'. Select 'use main speaker test'.

Thanks, that helps a lot! I was finally able to get a pretty good reading after multiple passes/setups. Using the Focusrite ASIO/Main Speaker really made the difference. Thanks again!

My setup now for anyone else struggling with this:

Drivers: ASIO
ASIO Device: Focusrite USB ASIO
Output: Output 1
Input: Input 3
Timing Ref Output: Output 1
Loopback Input: Input 1
Levels: Main Speaker

the 'invert' bird is marked somewhere on the sound card or + and - are mixed up in the loopback cable. It's not too bad, but if you fix it, it will be good.
