CEDIA 2024: GoldenEar's New T44 Revealed, Will Officially Land Next Year

(September 9, 2024) If you caught our CEDIA 2024 pre-show walkthrough video, then you got a glimpse of GoldenEar's new tower speaker, the T44. As it turns out, our assumptions were correct: CEDIA was, in fact, the speaker's first public reveal. As it stands, it will slot into the lower tier of the GoldenEar Triton lineup, benefiting from many of the big upgrades and physical changes that made the larger T66 such a popular hit. Based on what we've learned, there's good reason to believe the T44 will follow in the T66's footsteps.

We caught up with GoldenEar's Chris Volk during the third day of the CEDIA 2024 and got a full breakdown of technologies, design choices, some neat tidbits about the design phase of the T66. We also found out when and where you can hear the T44 first.

Man… don’t plant that seed, Sonnie!

Truthfully, I’m so happy with the Triton One.R, that speaker is bolted to my floor. It just does everything right.

If I ever were to make a change, I think I’d probably scrap traditional floor standers all together and install some sort of in-wall or on wall and make my projector screen larger!

It’s great to see GoldenEar innovating and making improvements. The move away from MDF bases is big, IMO. That kind of base is a weak point of older designs, as Chris points out: the new base allows the speaker to be walked without fear of damage.
