Wow! I can't believe it took me this long to watch it, but I finally got around to watching Hans Zimmer Live in Prague on Kaleidescape last night. It was truly remarkable! The Atmos was superb, and the bass was astoundingly good. This is now my favorite Atmos track, and I can't wait to watch it again. I was on the edge of my seat the entire show. Unbelievable!

I hope he does more on video. I did not search exhaustively, but I did not see any other video disc of his concerts. Looks like there are a few homemade YouTube videos out there, but they are not very good.

I agree, this is an outstanding concert video, one that will really test your system especially in the bass region. I usually turn the subs down a dB or two when I watch it. I can only imagine listening to this concert on your system, it must be awesome!

It’s definitely an amazing experience! I’ve listened to the music in 2 channel far more than watched the video with the Atmos track. The two channel rendition is very very good, but the Atmos disc is on another level.

I plan to listen to more of the music in two-channel, but watching it is a treat in itself.

It's a good one, for sure. I know Trinnov's David Meyerowitz likes to use it to demo high-end rooms after they've been calibrated using Trinnov software.

It really is an amazing audio. Zimmer is insanely talented.

Interstellar is one of his best, IMO. So haunting.

Having my system setup in an open basement, I lose some of the bass punch. It is still a great experience for me though. Now I'm going to have to go watch it again! And yes, I agree with you Todd. The Interstellar soundtrack is absolutely perfect for that film.

Oooooo.... I've never watched that. Looks awesome

I've this disc and it's one of my favourite :T

I've watched it again and it continues to amaze me at how good it is.

I will completely agree with the technical sound and video quality of the Zimmer disc, but it bores me to tears. I can't get through more than a single track at a time. I watched it once, over the course of a month, and have never felt the need to go back to it. I'd rather watch a movie he scored.

Proof that we all have different types of neurotransmitters. :nerd:

I completely appreciate the music, but I'd rather listen to it in the context of a movie. If I'm listening to music, film scores has never been my jam.

For that matter, if I'm listening to music, it's likely upstairs on the turntable. Perhaps some Bill Evans Trio, or Soul Coughing, or Michael Franti or Khrungbin. But never a film score.

I like background music and casual listening, but it's more of a critical listening scenario when I'm in my AV room listening to music. I want to find music that I can emotionally connect with. There are not very many videos that do this for me. David Gilmour In Concert was another one that I've watched countless times because it moves me emotionally.

I am glad that with some music, I can connect the visuals to make it more enjoyable. It doesn't always work, but when it does, it does. When I listen to Hans Zimmer on Roon, it's still good, but it's not as good as it is when I watch them perform it. It's more exciting for me with the visuals.

As far as it's origination... it matters not to me where it comes from or the purpose of it... if I like the music, I like the music. If I'm watching a movie, it's not for the music; it's for the movie—some of the movies in this Hans Zimmer video I have seen, some I have not. For the ones I've seen, I never paid this much attention to the music as I was more focused on the movie. Sure, the music makes it interesting, but it's not why I watch the movie. For me, it's just not the same as watching this video that was made specifically to present an exciting visual for several different movie soundtracks (or a portion of the soundtrack).

Hey... we are not always going to like the same things. Some like vanilla, some like chocolate, some like both.
