bkeeler10 submitted a new Showcase Item:

Keeler Theater

So this is our new dedicated theater room. We made the decision last year to add on to our house, and part of that add-on is this new theater space. As you can see, we are not done yet. We had sheetrock installed last week (late February 2018), and we are 4-6 weeks from completion.

The space is approximately 14 x 19 x 9 in size. When done, this will be set up for 7.1.4 Atmos initially (wired for 9.1.6) with a 110" 2.35 AR acoustically transparent projection screen. Gear is mostly decided and will include Anthem head end (for now, unless Emotiva gets their act together on Atmos in time), Outlaw amplifiers, probably Chane speakers, Rythmik subwoofers, JVC projector and Seymour AV screen.

Read more about this showcase item here...

Really looking forward to seeing the final room!!! :T

Following this one.. Very exciting! :)

Thanks guys. Been a long time coming, and I can't wait til it's done. Especially since my former room is now a construction zone and I have been without a system of any kind for a while now. I'm definitely experiencing audiovisual withdrawal symptoms!:gah:

I can't wait to see how it comes out. You are in the home stretch.

Now you know the rule right. You can't connect the projector and speakers until the room is as done as you want it to be. For once you have connected everything, the remaining work will take 10 times longer to complete.

Haha yes, I have heard that. I will do my best to exercise self-control in this regard. I want it done right, and if I place a restriction on myself to get everything done before equipment goes in, it should motivate me to get it done ASAP. The good news is that I've waited so long for this that an extra handful of weeks is nothing anymore.

One thing that will help me is that the speakers I plan on using will probably not be available until after things are wrapped up. So there's that I guess. I just hope I don't have to wait too long on them . . .

Looks like it is going to be a great room... I def would hold off on the temptation to get it up and running before it is done though. It took me forever to finish mine...should have listened to others.

Unless your name is Wayne Myers, lol !!

EDIT: Well, that doesn’t sound right. I was referring to how Wayne’s set-up expertise cuts it down to only 9 times longer!

Well, if you've followed the build thread you'd know I broke the cardinal rule. I've already watched/listened to a few things. But that has actually motivated me to finish and see what else I'm missing! Acoustic treatments arrive this week . . .

Looks like a nice setup you've got going there. Following.

Thank you sir. Is this the bpape that was with GIK? I've got a fair bit of GIK in there. Are you still with them?

You might be interested in my build thread at https://www.avnirvana.com/threads/my-new-theater.1500/. Much more information there. I haven't updated it in a while, but now that things are mostly settled an update is definitely due :)
