Hi all,
I'm having a strange problem with "Sound Card Calibration" in REW V5.31.1.
This could be a hardware related issue (my thread on RME forum), so I just wanted to post it here to see if there are any other opinions or experiences with something similar.
Output channels 1 (PH1, Left), 2 (PH2, Right), and 3 (PH3, Left) pass sweep measurements perfectly at any test level (-12...0 dBFS) and provide me with good calibration reports.
But output channel 4 (PH4, Right) cuts out in the middle of the sweep test and gives a high distortion warning, and the calibration report doesn't look good at all.
Here's how it looks like:
and the magnified moment of the graph before muting:
When this happens, there is no more output from the 4th channel until I switch it to 'Mono' and back, or reset the unit's power.
Another way to bring it back to life without resetting the power is to start playing audio in another app (such as Tidal, etc.).
Then REW can be used again and the channel will work until it happens again (muting).
This only happens on channel 4 (Second DAC, Right).
This result is highly repeatable and I can repeat this situation as many times as I want (note: I don't really want this
).
So far I have tried all types of interconnect (loopback) cables: balanced, unbalanced. And also the front output jack and rear output jack of this channel.
