Hello,

For sometime, it's impossible to do measurement with REW because of larsen.

Did somebody already have this pb?

BR.

Arnaud.

Your communication is mostly failing here due to using the word "larsen" instead of "feedback" .

"larsen"
is just not contextually correct for most of us ( though "feedback" would be ) .

So ( a solution );
One needs to turn off signal monitoring ( to avoid signal feedback contaminating measurements ) .

Hi Earl,

Thx for your reply. As I don’t know how to modify title I’m going to create a new post.

I’m not sure to understand when you said « turn off signal monitoring ». To me signal monitoring would be the signal comes from the soundcard to the speakers. Am I true? (If so, the signal is needed to do measurements).

Somehow, you are feeding the output signal ( electrically ) back into the input ( where it's mixing/contaminating the signal picked up by the microphone ).

:)

PS; it's a common error made by people new to using soundcards and making measurements,

Hi Earl,
I use a scarlet solo as sound card. Output goes to the preamp of my system (to generate signal for measurement), and input is the mic. What can be wrong? I did several measurement before without pb.

Ok, I understand what you mean! Output is feeding input (as a loop). I have to check my souncard parameter.
Have a nice day.
Arnaud.

Make sure the "Direct Monitor" switch/or button is in the "Off" position
