I have an Anthem AVR. The Front Left and Front Right channels are bypassed with pre-outs connecting to a Lyngdorf TDAI 3400 in Home Theatre bypass mode. This is for movies. For music, I don't use the Anthem at all, and use RoomPerfect for room correction.

When I measure speakers in REW setting the Anthem AVR as the default device, the left and right speaker do not play any sound.

How can I get the front left and right channel to play normally through REW for measurements? This is in order to optimise crossover and timing for the AVR.

How is your computer connected to the Anthem AVR? How are your REW soundcard preferences set? Do you get sound from any other speakers?

Hi
Mac mini connects by mini-displayport to HDMI adapter. I get sound from all the speakers except the front left and front right. As noted above, those speakers are driven by the Lyngdorf connected to the Anthem by the pre-outs.
I do hear the left and right speaker if I select the Lyngdorf as the default device. However, I wanted to set the crossovers and delays for the speakers using REW just for. movies and those are set in the Anthem AVR.
Is a workaround to take the measurements for the speakers via the Lyngdorf and then match that level using the trim function in the Anthem?

If you have an analog pre-out connection from the Anthem to the Lyngdorf that suggests there must be some setting which means the pre-outs are not active when the Anthem is getting a multi-channel PCM signal over HDMI, which sounds odd.

You mention default device, it is better to select the output device and output explicitly in the REW soundcard preferences, do not leave REW set to default device and rely on the OS default device selection.
