(August 22, 2019) In a world dominated by all-in-one solutions and fancy streaming options, it’s nice to know that manufacturers are still supporting physical media and solid two-channel playback at price points that are accessible to the masses.
Today, Denon launched a duo of new Hi-Fi products designed to deliver accurate high fidelity playback without breaking the bank, headlined by the PMA-600E Integrated Amplifier ($399). This particular unit carries the company’s Advanced High Current single push-pull circuit power amplification technology, which is capable of 70 watts per channel (4 ohms, 2-channel). Denon says the PMA-600E utilizes the same 24-bit/192kHz DACs found in its more expensive 800 and 1600 Series of Hi-Fi components for authentic sound reproduction of your favorite digital media.
Internal componentry associated with the PMA-600E was hand-selected to reach astounding levels of performance when considering dynamic range. According to Denon, that translates to an amplifier circuit capable of output reaching all the way to 100kHz! And, in an effort to appease those with true analog leanings, the amp has a “Analog Mode” that shuts off digital and wireless inputs for a pure analog operating status without any digital-oriented interference.
“No product leaves the Denon factory until it has the Sound Master seal of approval, for which our team in Japan meticulously listens to every product to ensure the voicing and build quality is consistent with other Denon New Era series products,” said Shinichi Yamauchi, sound master at Denon. “The new 600 series products have the same precise, clean and powerful Denon sound because they have the same Hi-Fi engineering concept, including advanced components, circuitry, amplification, and layout as other Denon Hi-Fi products. The overall aesthetic, sound quality and design integrity of the PMA-600NE is unparalleled at the price.”
The perfect mate for the PMA-600E is Denon’s all-new DCD-600E CD player ($299), which supports CD, CD-R.RW, MP3, and WMA formats. Featuring Denon’s AL32 Processing technology, Denon engineers mounted the player’s power transformers down low and overtop of its isolators for vibration-free performance. Moreover, if you truly want to push clarity and uncolored music, switch the player into Pure Direct mode for deactivation of the front display, further removing any potential of signal degradation. Add to that a design empahsizing short signal paths, and the DCD-600E has all the makings of a super clean playback device.
Both the PMA-600NE and DCD-600E are scheduled to ship during September 2019.
