(October 3, 2022) Texas-based Modulus Media Systems arrived at CEDIA 2022 with a brand-new model, the Modulus M2. The M2 is a high-performance 4K UHD movie server with up to 80TB of field-upgradeable storage, optional integrated backup, and NAS compatibility for unlimited expansion. Standing as the world’s only fully-integrated media source, the M2 records video from cable or antenna TV, 4K UHD Blu-rays, standard Blu-rays, DVDs, and music from CDs and commercial streaming services. Unlike other options that rely on HDMI switchers and structured wiring, the M2 uses a standard Ethernet/WiFi network to distribute live media and recorded content to optional Modulus Mx1 receivers in up to 18 rooms in a home. The M2 can record up to 6 programs simultaneously, includes an electronic program guide, and delivers enticing features like commercial skip and universal search. It also ships with a slick remote control loaded with a full QWERTY keyboard for searches, an air-mouse for navigation, a headphone jack for private listening, and voice command functionality. The M2 also boasts 2-way compatibility with major smart-home control systems allowing integrated control of an entire home theater.
