Modulus Media Systems Launches Its Flexible and Expandable 4K UHD Media Server/DVR at CEDIA 2022

(October 3, 2022) Texas-based Modulus Media Systems arrived at CEDIA 2022 with a brand-new model, the Modulus M2. The M2 is a high-performance 4K UHD movie server with up to 80TB of field-upgradeable storage, optional integrated backup, and NAS compatibility for unlimited expansion. Standing as the world’s only fully-integrated media source, the M2 records video from cable or antenna TV, 4K UHD Blu-rays, standard Blu-rays, DVDs, and music from CDs and commercial streaming services. Unlike other options that rely on HDMI switchers and structured wiring, the M2 uses a standard Ethernet/WiFi network to distribute live media and recorded content to optional Modulus Mx1 receivers in up to 18 rooms in a home. The M2 can record up to 6 programs simultaneously, includes an electronic program guide, and delivers enticing features like commercial skip and universal search. It also ships with a slick remote control loaded with a full QWERTY keyboard for searches, an air-mouse for navigation, a headphone jack for private listening, and voice command functionality. The M2 also boasts 2-way compatibility with major smart-home control systems allowing integrated control of an entire home theater.

We had a chance to catch up with Modulus on the CEDIA 2022 show floor, getting a rundown of this powerful piece of equipment!

Hi there… I saw the interface they were running at CEDIA, yes, I’m fairly certain it isn’t open source. I actually need to reach out to them about an engagement, so I’ll try to get confirmation.

Hello Todd, thank you for the reply, yes that would be great if you could get confirmation, the reason I asked is because I saw Google Play store installed on this box, That is really what I would like to know if APK apps could be installed on the box, I really appreciate your feedback thanks.
