Monoprice Opens Its First Retail Store Location
(Monoprice)
(July 2, 2017) Here’s a bit of breaking news: Monoprice just took one step into the world of brick-and-mortar retail by opening its first official store. Before you dig out your dusty Yellow Pages to see if the location is in a strip mall near you, let’s dive a bit deeper into Monoprice’s new endeavor.
The store is a direct replacement to the company’s original will call center, which opened at its Rancho Cucamonga (CA) headquarters during 2013. The will call center concept was designed to host some of the company’s best-selling products on a small-scale basis. The new store offers customers a completely re-designed experience at the same location, with nearly three-times the space (1,900 square feet) and twice as many products.
Monoprice says the launch of its store celebrates its 15th anniversary and renews its commitment to meeting the needs of its consumers.
“It’s our philosophy to constantly challenge the industry status quo through innovation. Building a retail location is another testament to our dedication to enhancing the Monoprice shopping experience,” said Bernard Luthi, CEO at Monoprice. “We listened to our customers when they expressed their desire for a store, and we’re pleased to continue our pledge of offering fairly priced products in a brick and mortar setting.”
Customers can expect to find products from Monoprice’s popular audio/video, mobile, and monitor categories, in addition to offerings from several new categories such as 3D printing, cycling, gaming, home/outdoor, and home appliances. The shopping environment includes traditional retail space along with five demo areas, allowing for a truly unique interactive experience.
The store’s grand opening ribbon cutting celebration is today (July 5) from 11 am to 1 pm PST. The event includes introductory speeches from company officials and local officials paired with several nifty giveaway promotions (five 15 Watt Tube Amps and gift bags for the first 50 customers).
While the company isn’t immediately discussing any plans to open more brick-and-mortar locations, it has revealed that it will offer two weeks of extensive sales starting on July 10th. Customers will have access to those sales through Monoprice’s website.
