Hey folks!

I have a new project in the works called "Bass Hunters." Each episode will focus on one movie, dissecting the film's bass and featuring spotlight looks at what people can expect to experience.

It's looking like this will be done in partnership with Kaleidescape, so we'll have advance looks at a lot of films before they hit disc. Episode One features Doctor Strange/Multiverse.

Here's a little look at a demo/proof of concept that will ultimately be used as a reference comparison clip:

Todd this looks awesome. Reminds me of the days of bass rated movies and speclab. In your twitter post is the audio meant to be distorted?

Every time the bass hits its distorted. other than that it looks great.

Yeah, the audio isn’t meant to be pristine… it’s recorded by the audio program and I don’t have a lot of control over it… but I’ll see what I can do to tame it down!

Unfortunately, DMCA might keep some audio from even been included. Actual video, which was intended to be included, raised DMCA flags. So, that can’t be included.

Thanks for the comment. I think this has a lot of possibilities!

It didn't sound very good with my cheap headphones:rofl2::rofl2:

I believe I have the audio issue solved... I sure wish I could show both audio and video. Just can't happen without constantly having to argue fair use. :-/

Cant you show half the picture, as in the bottom of the video?

Not sure whats aloud as the rules are getting ridiculous at times.

Watched Dr Strange last night, but didn't get that nice bass that people are taking about, even though I've 2 subs

I don't think so. The YouTube AI looks for direct matches. It's a total pain. I think I have a good workaround... I created a pilot episode to show to a partner. It ended up being waaaay too long. So, I'm putting the finishing touches on the first two episodes now and hope to have them out this week. They are significantly shorter.

Episode 1 is live...

Great video to start everything off. I need to check out more info on your processor. Very nice.

"Worthy bass films," will this be based on 20hz-80hz and magnitude average or how low is the cutoff?

Thx. I haven't developed any sort of calculation (yet). But I do have some parameters that will need to be met. I think that will come to light once the films start rolling out.

Episode #2 is live... bear with me while I navigate a learning curve. Yes, the glitchy nature of the video is purposeful... and yes, future videos won't have this effect. Also, this episode is twice as long as I'd like these shows to be. Lots of other tweaks to be made!

Here's a little sneak peek of Episode #3's LFE in action...this is a good one! Any guesses as to which film is featured?

So its a Bruce Willis move... :neener:Maybe Die Like Lovers?
I just spit my food out. LOL. Good one!

I guess if I had said dinosaurs and not fossils, you could have played the same line!:nerd:

Ok, I guess Geriatric World... :dontknow: Umm... Jurassic World: Dominion & Submission by Blue Öyster Cult... What did I win? I was hoping for a Popeil Pocket Fisherman so I can hunt for the bass... :jump:

ddude, you’re on to something! This release is a sub lover’s dream!!

Haven't seen the movie yet but glad to hear there is a bass heavy movie still being made.

Okay... okay... August was a disaster. Well, not really a disaster... but a long vacation and a couple weeks dedicated to driving my daughters to their colleges soaked up most of the days.

Bass Hunters #3 is live. Jurrasic World is done, but waiting in the queue. This one is dedicated to NOPE!

Limping along... had a very unfortunate, catastrophic error with my laptop. Having to re-create previously finished content. :-/

Anyhow, here's episode 5!

Bass Hunters 7: #TopGunMaverick 4K Atmos Review is LIVE. Wondering what kind of bass is layered throughout this gem of a movie? WATCH:
