Newb? sound id mic working with REW

Hello,

Just wondering if the sound id microphone would work with REW? or will i be beter off getting the minidsp usb mic? Thanks for your time .... im only taking room measurements in the house and bedroom studio

depends what you want to do, if you just want to measure, chang something and then see the change then any mic will work. but if you want to know the 'actual' response of the room/speaker etc, then you WILL need a calibrated mic.

on another note, if you can find a frequency response of the mic online you could attempt to make a flat-ish calibration file manually, it would be better but still not a true calibrated mic.

The XREF mic from Sonarworks (ID) comes with two Cal files. One of them is for the ID app, the other is for REW and other apps.
