Hello,
I'm brand new to REW and as the topic suggests I can't select an output in the Preferences.

I have a windows 10 64bit laptop running REW V5.20.3 and I installed ASIO4ALL 2.15 Beta 3. I have a Marantz 8012 that I'm connected to through HDMI. I setup all of the sound settings per the AustinJerry guide and I was able to record a sound file on with my UMIK-1 and have it playback through my speakers connected to the AVR. So, I know that I have the sound settings correct. I have tried multiple HDMI ports on my avr with no luck. It appears the AVR shows up under Java but once I select ASIO all I get are "1: Not Connected 1" and "2: Not Connected 2" for output options in the dropdown menu.

Anyone know what I might be missing? I've tried restarting the avr and my laptop and the software. Windows recognizes the device fine. Anyone have any ideas of what else I can try?

Thanks!

Thought I'd follow up on this. I quit and shut stuff down for awhile and then decided to mess with it a little more tonight. I started it up and... there were the outputs! But! The UMIK was gone. So? I tried unplugging and plugging in the UMIK and hitting Reload. Nothing. Then, and I should have kept better track, I plugged and unplugged the HDMI and UMIK cables about every way I could think of. I would hit reload each time I could only get one or the other to come up. Not both. It's like they were fighting each other for a connection. One would literally kick the other one off. I finally got both to come up when I restarted REW with only the UMIK plugged in. Then, I plugged in the HDMI and hit Reload and boom. I finally got both to come up simultaneously. Too late to try it out tonight, but hopefully I'm good to start testing now.

UMIK-1 is 48k only, so if the HDMI was set to run at a different rate they wouldn't both appear in ASIO4All at the same time.

Thanks for the reply. I went through the setup in that guide at least 5 times. I made sure everything said 48k on the Windows sound setup side of things. Would the avr automatically dictate that at all? The 8012 was detecting the HDMI and automatically showed the multi-channel in 7.1 that I had set up on the laptop. I haven't tried anything again today to make sure it works after being shut down and sitting again. Another thing I'll mention is that once I got them both to work it seemed easier to make it work any of the subsequent times I unplugged and replugged and/or restarted.
