Hi everybody,

at the moment i m trying put up a setup for measurment

i use
- linux debian (#bunsenlabs distribution)
- native instruments audio8 soundcard

in the preferences i use "pulseaudio mixer" as output and input. in the mixer i should be able to route the signal to the sound card.

this works fine for the input. but if i open the generator and play some pink noise there is no output signal in REW, also not in the pulseaudio mixer.

currently i got the 5.19 beta installed, also tried the 5.18...same problem.

can anybody help out?

best
lk

Which Java runtime are you using? The Oracle runtimes seem to have worked better than OpenJDK for some folk.

Thank you John Mulcahy - I believe I was having the same problem. Switching to Oracle runtime fixed it for me.

Specifically I was on REW 5.18 running the sound card calibration via Preferences > Soundcard > Calibrate (Next >, Next >) and was seeing -99 dBFS (almost) all of the time on the "Out" indicator. Sometimes I got lucky and saw a signal there, but I had no control over its volume; then when I tried doing a calibration, the results were a mess and made no sense compared to the documentation.
