(January 7, 2025) Onkyo has unveiled an all-new powered speaker lineup called the Creator Series, designed to cater to modern listeners, content creators, musicians, and gamers. Following its December rebranding announcement, this release showcases Onkyo’s commitment to blending its audio engineering legacy with the needs of today's tech-driven lifestyles. The Creator Series introduces two distinct models, the GX10DB and GX30ARC, delivering a fusion of high-quality audio performance, versatile connectivity, and sleek, compact design.
The GX10DB, priced at $199 per pair, features a 3-inch woofer and a ¾-inch tweeter powered by a Class D amplifier, delivering 34 watts of what Onkyo says is clean, dynamic sound. Compact yet powerful, this model is tailored for use with desktop and laptop computers, in addition to turntables. Its sound modes, including a flat DSP setting for pure audio reproduction, are intended to produce detailed playback across all frequencies. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.3, USB-C, optical input, RCA/phono, and a subwoofer pre-out, making it a versatile option for various setups. At just 6.8 inches tall and 5.9 inches deep, this speaker is sized to fit seamlessly into tight spaces.
The GX30ARC ($299 per pair) ups output capabilities with a 4-inch woofer and ¾-inch tweeter, offering bi-amped audio with a total output of 50 watts. Designed for those seeking elevated performance, the GX30ARC adds HDMI Audio Return Channel connectivity, meaning you can dump audio from a TV to the speakers using an HDMI connection. Additional features like RCA/phono inputs, optical input, Bluetooth 5.3, and a subwoofer pre-out make it a multi-functional solution for gaming consoles, home theater setups, and music playback.
With a modern design and a 10-degree angled stand for optimal sound dispersion, the GX30ARC promises not just an auditory upgrade but also a visual one. It's slightly larger in size than the GX10DB, at 8.7 inches tall and 6.7 inches deep, though with those measurements, it maintains a compact footprint.
Both models ship equipped with remote controls and robust ABS resin stands designed to minimize vibrations. Available in striking black or white finishes, the Creator Series is poised to deliver exceptional audio performance in any environment. Look for both to hit the market during Q2 of 2025.
