(January 25, 2024) Origin Acoustics has unveiled its new "Origin PRO" line of commercial-grade speakers and amplifiers developed specifically for integrators and installers working in non-residential spaces.
On the speaker front, the line has in-ceiling, surface mount, and pendant form factors available in 5", 6", and 8" sizes, with low-end duties handled by 8" in-ceiling and pendant subwoofers. Origin says all models include certifications required by the commercial installation market and can be purchased now.
The complete line of speakers can be powered by a soon-to-be-releaed line of full-matrix DSP-enabled amplifiers that flex with serious output muscle ranging from 60W-750W per channel. Additionally, the amps can drive both low-impedance and 70v/100v speakers.
Origin says they'll be available in 2- and 4-channel configurations and both 2U and 1U half-rack sizes. The 2U full-rack amps can deliver reliable total system power of 1000W, 1500W, 2000W, and 3000W, while the 1U half-rack amplifiers will offer total system power ranging from 125W to 500W. The company says the ultra-compact 1U half-rack version also has automatic power-sharing technology in its 60W and 125W amplifiers that proportionally distributes power in both Lo-Z and Hi-Z, and provides the utmost flexibility in system configuration.
Origin PRO Amplifiers with Dante will also be available for large-scale, professional projects where low-latency and system-wide synchronization are imperative. Dante converges all connection types into one that is managed with software, allowing for creative design flexibility and expandability, seamless integration with other technologies, and reduced equipment costs.
A built-in web app supports Origin Pro Amplifiers for easy system setup and customization. The company says it can deliver DSP configuration options and tuning features, including multi-zone setup, input mixing, priority and ducking, restriction, input and output EQ, S/PDIF output routing, high-pass filter, speaker presets, delay, Sine generation, and more. Additionally, the amps are compatible with custom-made drivers for the most widely specified control and automation system brands, including Control4, RTI, Symmetrix, QSC, AMX, Crestron, and Elan.
Look for Origin Pro amps to begin shipping during Q2 2024.
