Parasound is Poised to Hit CEDIA with Two New Amplifier Models
(Parasound) The new Halo A 52+ five-channel amp.(August 28,2017) Today, San Francisco, California’s highly regarded component manufacturer, Parasound, announced two new exciting amplifier models. The ZoneMaster 2350 is an entirely new addition to the company’s offerings, while the Halo A 52+ is a reboot of a highly successful legacy model.
Parasound’s ZoneMaster line was originally launched three years ago at CEDIA 2014. According to Parasound’s president and founder, Richard Schram, the line has been well received by custom installers and integrators. But, Schram says: “there are times when you just need more horsepower for big speakers, passive subs, and long chains of small speakers.” That sentiment is the inspiration behind the ZoneMaster 2350.
The 2350 is a robust 350 Watts per channel beast, designed around a heavy-hitting Class D amplifier capable of driving up to 600 watts per channel in typical 4-ohm applications. In fact, it’s the model series first Class D amp (with others offering AB performance). Beyond bucket-loads of power, the unit offers line-level and speaker-level inputs, A/B speaker outputs, mono/stereo switching, a pre-set 80 Hz low pass filter for simple subwoofer integration, and 30/80 Hz high pass filters for use with smaller speakers.
Parasound says the 2350 will become available during Q4 of 2017 for $1,295.
The Halo A 52+ revives one of the company’s past strong performers, the Halo A 52, which was sold from 2003 through 2012. Much like the original, the new model is the work of audio expert John Curl. According to Parasound, the model’s rebirth is the direct result of customer/dealer feedback and the need for a moderately priced heavy-hitting 5-channel power amp.

The A 52+ provides users five channels of refined performance, including more available power (increased from 125 to 185 watts per channels, 8 ohms, all channels driven) derived from a high-bias Class A/AB amplifier topology and larger custom-designed toroid power transformer. Its exterior offers a black anodized extruded front panel, solid aluminum end-caps, and a front mounted power button and channel operation lights. The backside presents users with XLR balanced and RCA unbalanced inputs, five speaker terminals, a 12-volt trigger, an “audio threshold” loudness adjustment, and a selector switch to enable automatic audio-activated turn-on.
The A 52+ is priced at $2,995 and is scheduled to ship during Q4. Parasound say both the A 52+ and ZoneMaster 2350 will be on display at CEDIA 2017.
