Wondered if the Marantz NR1711 microphone for Audyssey can be used with REW.
Was thinking of using a USB external soundcard plugged into laptop USB port, using microphone in for the mic and optical out to AVR for sounds.
Would that work??

Well, with no calibration file it would only be good for acoustics measurements, not frequency response. That’s assuming you are able to actually generate a measurement. AFAIK, those mics don’t work with typical mic pre-amps as you would find in a USB soundcard.

Really, it’s best to use the connection schemes and equipment recommended in the help files. Anything else, you are the lab rat. Let us know how it works.

Wayne
